The history of the rooster pitcher dates back to the early Renaissance period in the Republic of Florence; it’s a fascinating story of the Medicis and the Pazzis, and how the Medici’s roosters protected their family from a midnight attack – ask us about it! Long story short, it’s now an Italian tradition to give a rooster pitcher to friends and family as a symbol of good luck, and to protect them from danger.
Artfully rendered bees are happily abuzz amid lush fruit on a rich, cream background in our handmade and hand painted Toscana Bees line of Italian ceramics. What a beautiful example of fine Tuscan ceramic  design!
